Maintenance Release
This version of The Events Calendar includes various fixes and tweaks with a focus on stability and compatibility with third-party tools.
As always, we recommend testing updates on a staging site first, but it should all be smooth sailing.
Tweaks
New tweaks in this release:
- Added an empty alt tag to featured images across all views when a user doesn’t explicitly define one in order to improve SEO.
- We ensured all instances of the
tribe_get_events_title
filter have matching signatures. - We modified single-event.php to use
tribe_get_formatted_cost

Fixed
Bugs that were squashed in this release:
- We added a default Schema
eventStatus
value for JSON LD output of events. - We now avoid a fatal error in
tribe_events_event_classes
when called on events that aren’t assigned to any category. - We avoid PHP errors originating from a missing HTML template when the migration to Custom Tables v1 is not required.
- We now correctly display venue in list-style views when using WPML.
- We ensure the date tags for recurring events are displayed correctly in the Events List widget.
- We improved how the Subscribe to Calendar Dropdown opens and closes consistently across all themes.
- We fixed a failure while saving events in the block editor while using WPML.
- Fixed an issue that stopped the default venue values from populating when submitting a Community Event.
- Fixed the pagination styling on the Event Aggregator import preview data table.
- We prevent event save processing from being interrupted in cases of partial WPML activation where a language code is missing.
- We prevent a fatal error on PHP 8.0+ during generation of the activation report when issues exist.
- We prevent a fatal error on PHP 8.0+ for
tribe_get_event_cat_slugs
with bad typing aroundarray_filter
. - We prevent a fatal error on PHP 8.0+ around iCal exporting with param not being an array.
